This is a logical fallacy known as "affirming the consequent". Your assertion is that since all good men are hard to find (which we take as a given), all men who are hard to find must be good. But is this reasonable? Just because one concept is conditional on another doesn't mean they are identical. For example, there might be other categories of men who are difficult to find: hermits, mobsters, or Frank Abagnale jr., for example, none of whom are necessarily good.(See here for a better explanation of this.)
I don't think you need a sign, I think you need a lure. Hehe.
Y'know, I went looking for you some time ago, but you didn't want to be found! ;-p
1. I was aware of this, but you know, it was a joke. Although it can be noted that although statement A in no way proves statement B, it does support it, assuming you take A as true (which it isn't, it's horse shit). So I guess there may have been a logically correct way of using the gag. You're a pedant after my own heart.
1b. Frank Abawho?
2. Tee hee. But I don't think dancing like that would help me.
3. True. Alas, my logically flawed one liner also bears little relation to the reality of the situation. Things are far more often my fault. Well, at least they are some of the time, which is more than is suggested by said line.
Frank Abagnale Jr. is the guy from "Catch Me If You Can". He was hard to find but not good.
Can I just take that whole comment back? I thought it was a great line (and I think it would make a great T-shirt! Hehe maybe not) and my pedantry has only served to make me look sad and lame.
