Ation. There's meant to be an ation.

So it's been quite a while since I did a proper everything-that's-happened-lately update, since Dec 18th, to be precise, but I'll be buggered if I can be bothered recapping that much right now. Life is full. Maybe when it's winter and I'm bored I'll do summer memoirs or something.
In the garden today I finished reading an M. John Harrison story about blue bodies, being sick and being violated, another story of his filled with aching human desperation and terminal illness, and almost felt as if I was going to cry. It takes a lot to make me cry. Maybe it was just the smoke from the barbecue.
Yesterday I went house hunting with Heather and Andrew. And my mum (I was driving and am yet to take my P's test). We found a couple of places which seemed pretty good. The top of the list, I think, is a two bedroom flat on the outskirts of Summer Hill (which is to say, the outpants of Ashfield). It was originally a huge old house that has now been divided up into 5 or so flats. It's pretty darn big for a two bedroom place and we are very seriously considering putting in a lease application this week. There are only a few niggles, as follows:
*Big discrepancy between the sizes of the two bedrooms. As in huge and palatial versus tiny and pokey. There's plenty of room to put stuff elsewhere in the house, however.
*Right near a major road. It's not that big of a worry, but background hum could be annoying if I'm trying to record music. I can probably get around it.
*Slopey balcony. Which is better than no balcony at all, but means we can't, for instance, put furniture and eat dinner out there, as all the food would roll off the table. Which would be amusing to watch, I'll give you that.
*The place is so conveniently located that I am almost certain to become less fit. I know, that isn't actually a problem with the house.
There was also a three bedroom we looked at in Croydon. This is a less likely option, what with only having a maybe third person I don't know very well and forgot to get contact details from.
So moving out could very well be happening soon. I am excited, but also... trepid. I am filled with trep.

(And oh boy do I got me some bad talkinating) GAH!
Having an alright time, played dolly dress ups with my little girl cousins last night, they were very impressed with my skills of a stylist. I'm the stylist with the mad skillz!
See you soon, G.
