Neil Gaiman
Jul. 14th, 2005 08:58 pmI shall be up awful early (for me) to catch the man when he speaks at Galaxy books next Wednesday. Would anyone care to join me?
(those who were planning on going to Kinokuniya for same should be aware that the speech and Q&A there has been canceled to make room for more signing)
I don't know, really, what the big deal is with signings. I'd much rather hear something substantial from the guy than hang around for a bazillion hours behind a whole bunch of other people waiting to say their 20 seconds of "umm, hi, I think you're the greatest" and get him to scribble on some artifact. Surely you're more likely to come away with something valuable to you if you get to hear more than 20 seconds, even if the exchange is a little more one way and the thing you get less material?
Luckily he is going to be addressing the masses at Galaxy, so I don't know what I'm ranting about. Yay!
