Last friday I got a call from my cousin Claire. We talked about nothing and pirates and music and babies for an hour. In four weeks time, I'm going to be a ...um, second uncle or second cousin or something. Woot!
Then I went to a show. Actually, here is a list of....
Things that I learned this past week (roughly in chronological order)
*When 3 people see a show, they see 3 different shows. I think I liked Head collision. They were at least aiming for something ambitious and original, even if they didn't completely succeed in getting there. Other people there weren't completely convinced, but I guess I was digging the possibilities.
*I am completely unable to keep up my end of a conversation whilst sleep deprived. Big surprise.
*Saturday was a day for reflection. I decided that maybe what I lacked in life was independence. That, and a girlfriend. I probably could have figured such things out whilst spending quality time with my folks after all, but then I wouldn't have had the chance to do all this other cool stuff.
*I really should go to more role playing cons. And if a team can't be thrown together I should just sign up anyway. There's tons of fun to be had, even playing in a game full of people you've never met. I hereby resolve not to be so shy and hung up in general.
*{game I can't remember the name of, but had a ball playing with Benj, Owen and Jaime} is cool. I want more super hero action!
*Sam Kieth r0x0rs jor s0x0rs. (I bought the sequel to Zero Girl).
*You know when it's sort of drizzly outside, and you're feeling really lazy and you have to work early tommorrow, and are tossing up weather it's really worth it going out? Go out. It's a good idea. I had a great time at the con after-party, and I talked to some very interesting people. I hope benj got his keys back =P
*Maybe I should use LJ-cut for posts like my last one. I didn't realise how chunky it was. Also, perhaps I should keep clear of the fuzzy line between poetry and oddly formatted prose. Maybe. Did anyone other than benj actually read it?
*I just learned that Clive Owen is slated as the next Bond. This may be good news for bond fans, but not for people like me who think Bond films are shite and would prefer to see the above mentioned in more ultra cool indie flics like Croupier (Get it out from the video store. Trust me. It's noir-tastic).
There was some other stuff, but I guess those lessons are lost on me, because I can't remember them.
